As a retired educator
I am deeply committed to making informed decisions that impact our schools. My campaign is built on the foundation of understanding the community’s needs and aspirations. Together, we can navigate the challenges of education by prioritizing transparency, accountability, and collaboration, ensuring that every child's future is our top priority.
As a candidate for school board, I believe that…
Students need:

-
Essential Human Skills: Effective communication and problem-solving skills are timeless, non-negotiable requirements for future success.

-
Adaptive Education: A quality education must be meaningful, adaptable, and focused on evolving real-world skills rather than static multiple-choice testing.

-
Preparedness for the Future: Every student must graduate with both a clear direction forward and the tools to adapt as the community's needs evolve.
The Board needs:

-
Enhanced Transparency: Communication can be improved by posting meeting transcripts—including work sessions—online within 24 hours, which would eliminate the need for stakeholders to wait months for official minutes.

-
Community-Driven Change: Community input (via forums, focus groups, and roundtables) from parents, teachers, students, and business owners before any major program overhaul is common sense and good practice.
-
Collaborative Planning: A broad group of stakeholders should be used to identify potential consequences of policy changes before they are enacted, ensuring decisions aren't made in a vacuum.
Why am I running as an independent?
I feel strongly that local governance should not be partisan. Each community is unique, and decisions should be made by the people closest to the issues, not as part of a one-size-fits-all movement or agenda. This is also why I don’t take campaign donations from PACs or individuals, especially those representing any political, social, or religious organizations. If you’d like to help support my campaign, contact me for a yard sign and tell your friends and neighbors about me.

Most importantly, vote, and encourage others to vote!
